Mohun Bagan unveiled their new coach Steve Darby. Steve Darby is a Englishman who have rich experience in coaching in Asia. Born in Liverpool, Steve Darby was himself a goalkeeper during his playing days.Steve became an official FIFA instructor for Oceania region in 1981. He then became the AFC instructor in 1998, that was after he was appointed as the National Development Manager of the Australian Soccer Federation in 1990.

As a coach Steve Darby had spells with Sydney Olympic(1995-1998,New South Wales Premier League, Australia), Johor FA(1998-2000, Malaysia Premier League, Malaysia), Vietnam Women's Football Team(2001), Home United FC(2002-2005, Singapore), Perak FA(2005-2008,Malaysia), Thailand National Team Assistant Coach(2008-2010).

Steve Darby has tasted success almost where-ever he went. He won the  Malaysia FA Cup back in 1998 with Johot FA, led the Vietnamese Women's National Football Team to gold medal in South East Asian Games(2001), S-League and Singapore Cup(Home United, 2003), AFC Cup Semi-Final(Home United, 2003), Singapore FA Cup(Home United, 2005), AFC Cup Quarter Final.
