USFC, ONGC make it to top division of indian football

USFC and ONGC made it to what was a pretty close battle, with missing out on promotion by just a point.

When United Sikkim was created everyone saw a ray of hope for development of game in Sikkim which gave us the one of highly talented footballer and co-owner of the club. And they were this team a starting favourite to make it to top division. But the club's performance had been pretty inconsistent and gave some hiccups to the clubs fans and some Indian football followers who wanted to see new clubs from different regions. When they entered the field for last match against against one of the oldest and famous clubs of Indian football, Mohammedan Sporting, all they wanted was a draw/win to make the dream fulfill.they did it in fashion with a 1-1 draw against black panthers.

When one team was a crowd favourite from the beginning of the league, while the other team,ONGC which got relegated last season and were rumoured to shut the team, was never in contention to be favourite to get promoted from the view of fans. But, the Mumbai based club came with a bang to surprise all teams by finding themselves in pretty good position for qualification with regular wins against some favourite teams and also some help from one of their rivals,Royal Wahingdoh who gifted them 3 points by playing 4 foreigners at a time .

A league which gave opportunities for many while was a  tournament to forget for few, but finally two of the best teams making it to I-league 2012-13!!!

Congratulation to United Sikkim FC and ONGC for their success in 2nd division.
