East Bengal are ready to face Myanmar qualifiers Yangon United in the AFC Cup 2013 pre-quarter finals at the Salt Lake stadium, Kolkata. The red and golds are favorites but can't take their opponent lightly in anyway. East Bengal are have impressed all by their display in the AFC Cup 2013 till now with "no-loose" record following their dominance in Group H while Yangon have only lost one of their 6 games in the AFC Cup 2013 Group stages. East Bengal's focus have now shifted to AFC Cup after their pursuit for the title challenge in the i-League 2013 came to rest finishing 3rd among the 14 i-League teams despite being a title contender till the end stages of the league. East Bengal fans will hope that Trevor Mogan's possible departure from the club in the upcoming season wont affect the players performance on the pitch. 

Ivan Venkov Kolev, the manager of Yangon United said that they will put their best step forward on away soil. East Bengal will bank their hopes on the likes of Andrew Barisic, Chidi Edeh, Lalrindika Ralte, Mehtab Hossain and Uga Okpara mostly while Yangon United will have their hopes resting on the shoulders of foreign trio of Ivory Coast forward Adama Koné, César Augusto (Brazilian forward) and Michael Cvetkovski (Aussie defender). Yangon United have as many as nine Myanmar National team members.

East Bengal has faced the Myanmar based opponents, Yangon United once in which the Red and Golds came out victorious with a scoreline of 3-1 in an exhibition match back in 2009. East Bengal have a chance to do the heroics of Dempo SC in which the Goan side finished as semi-finalist against all odds.

The match is scheduled to start at 6:00 PM IST.
