SAFF U-16 Championship: India defeat Afghanistan to reach the final

India U-16 defeated Afghanistan in the Semi Finals to face Nepal in the final of SAFF U-16 Championship, Picture Courtesy:

The Indian U-16 National Team beat Afghanistan U-16 Team 4-3 on Penalties to book their place in the Final of the SAFF U-16 Championship, at the Army Ground in Kathmandu, Nepal on Sunday (July 28, 2013).

India will be playing Nepal in the Final on Tuesday (July 30, 2013).

The semifinal clash headed straight into the Tie-Breaker after ninety minutes failed to separate the two outfits.

For India, who are being represented by AIFF Regional Academy’s U-15 boys, Bedashwor Singh, Prosenjit Chakraborty, Surya Tirkey and Aaron Rodrigues found the back of the net. Krishna Pandit’s effort from eight yards, hit the woodwork.
