|Subrata Pal(Left) and Gourmangi Singh set to Leave for Denmark Trial cum Training|
Indian Internationals Subrata Pal and Gourmangi Singh are all set to go for a 7 week long training cum trial stint (pending their Visa Approval) for Danish Club FC Vestsjaelland. Both the players have not featured in Airtel i-League 2013-14 after they chose to sign for IMG-Reliance league and the strong strand by the Airtel i-League clubs against playing any of the IMG-R contracted players meant these players have to look for other options to keep themselves competitive.
The initiative which was initially started by Red Bull alongside Anglian Holdings hit some unnecessary roadblocks last month. However, with all the necessary obstacles have been cleared this time, only the pending Visa approval for the duo stands in between them and their trials at the Denmark top division side FC Vestsjaelland. The deal involved IMG-Reliance, Red Bull and Anglian Holdings.
The opportunity will be fruitful for the Indian Internationals as they will have the chance to showcase their talent in every possible way while having a chance to crack the main team if they can impress the coaching staff at the Danish club. What's interesting is that Denmark has a full time reserve league which runs parallel alongside the top tier league, which features the reserve teams. Subrata Pal and Gourmangi would have sufficient playing time to keep themselves fit and if they can perform at the top level, they could have a claim at the first team.
Dhruv Ratra, the CEO of Sports and Marketing at Anglian Holdings told abcdfootball that they are making all the necessary arrangements to make the players feel comfortable at the Danish club. "We are making our best efforts to make sure that the players don't feel unease. We are very happy that the players are getting such a huge opportunity and they will show their full potential during their stay" said Dhruv.
