United SC 2-1 Dempo SC
USC: Eric Brown(50th, 56th)
DSC: Clifford Miranda(60th)

United Sports Club held on to their lead against Goan giants Dempo to secure a 2-1 victory in the round 10 clash of the Airtel I-League at the Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Saturday afternoon.

Liberian schemer Eric Brown scored a brace for the Kolkata outfit in the 50th minute and the 56th minute respectively, but the two-goal lead was reduced to one as India international Clifford Miranda pulled one back for the hosts in the 60th minute.

After that, the match looked very tight, and Dempo were trying their best to bridge the gap in the scoreline, but in the end, it was all about United SC.

It was three vital points for Eelco Schattorie’s side, and they are now fourth in the league table - also, leaders among all the four Kolkata Clubs at the moment.

Dempo, on the other hand, will not be too pleased with their performances so far this season, as they have garnered ten points out of nine games. They have just two wins, four draws, and three losses.

All said and done, it will be Cheers for United SC, as they are the only Kolkata Club notching up a win today. The other Kolkatan outfit, Mohammedan Sporting could only garner a point after a draw against Churchill Brothers.

And all roads now lead to the Kolkata Derby tomorrow, at the Salt Lake Stadium!
