SCG: Boima Karpeh(30th), Arturo Garcia(P 83rd,P 107th)

The second semi final saw two Goan side face against each other as Dempo SC and SC Goa locked horns at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi on Thursday. Arthur Papas started with Tolgay Ozbey in place of Jeje Lalpekhlua in the starting XI. Both sides were expected to play attacking football and they did managed to put up a great show.

Both veteran midfielders, Ogba Kalu of SC Goa and Beto of Dempo SC controlled their respective midfield well but SC Goa looked the brighter side thanks to their potent attack duo of Boima Karpeh and Victorino Fernandes. Boima Karpeh broke the deadlock in the 30th minute after he evaded his marker Simon Colosimo, and his left footed effort went into the bottom left corner of the net. Dempo SC could have equalized had it not been a wonderful save from SC Goa custodian Ravi Kumar in the 43rd minute. Early moments of the second half saw one of the misses of the tournament when Rowlin Borges failed to direct the ball into an open goal. Dempo SC were forced to make some attacking substitutions as Sanju Pradhan and Holicharan Narzary were introduced. Aturo Navarro, on the other hand, was brought on by Oscar Bruzon replacing Victorino, to hold on to the lead.

Dempo SC's afghan signing Haroon Amiri found himself in the thick of action as he was involved in the next three goals. Tolgay Ozbey came into the rescue for Dempo SC in the 72nd minute as he glided the ball past Ravi Kumar to grab the equalizer from a Haroon Amiri pass.In the 83rd minute of the game, Amiri was adjudged guilty by the on-field referee when a Arturo Garcia corner struck Amiri's hand with the referee pointing to the spot. Arturo Garcia calmly slotted the ball past the Dempo SC custodian. The next major move of the game came just four minutes later as Amiri and Beto combined well, before the Afghan finished a great move to get the Dempo SC equalizer in the dying moment of the second half. Match moved to extra time, as both teams looked to get the winning goal. SC Goa killed the Dempo SC hopes as Arturo Garcia scored his second goal of the game from another penalty, awarded by the referee when Holicharan Narzary tripped Pratesh Shirodkar inside the box in the 107th minute.
