Video: Stunning long range effort from a villager in West Bengal

Check out this stunning long range effort from a local villager playing in a small tournament in Adra, District Purulia, West Bengal.

The beautiful strike is itself praise worthy but what makes it even more phenomenal is that it was struck without any cleats or shoe. These kind of local tournaments are common not only in different districts of West Bengal but also in Kerala, with small entry fee and prize money attracts lots of potential from the rural part of the country with massive crowd pouring in. These kids do not have proper equipment or guidance to ply their trade on the bigger stage. One must wonder that if players from rural parts of the country, who might not be able to afford the costs of residential academies, are given priority, the so called "Sleeping Giant" might just wake up.
