i-League 2014-15 Transfers
Mumbai FC have signed experienced Nigerian Center Back, Chika Wali. Chika, who had earlier played for the likes of Pune FC, Chirag United and Salgaocar, thus becomes the third foreign recruit of the club after Japan’s Taisuke Matsugae and Brazil’s Josimar da Silva, who had earlier signed for the Mumbai based i-League club.

“He is a very important signing for us. Chika is a player with the character and dedication to do extremely well. He brings his powerful physique and athleticism to the game and is very strong in the air – a must for a central defender,” Khalid Jamil said on the signing.

Chika Wali shared his enthusiasm on signing for Mumbai FC,“I am excited to play for Mumbai FC. I have heard a lot about the city and I know that the city is very passionate about football. The coach is building a very good squad. Also, I am aware that the club will be playing at it’s home ground after a four-year hiatus which will really have a positive impact on our performances. It is a great opportunity and I’m looking forward to having a fantastic season here.”
