East Bengal have appointed former United SC Dutch Coach, Eelco Schattorie as the replacement for Armando Colaco to take charge of the East Bengal Head Coach post. The Dutchman had a good stint with Untied SC before he parted ways last season.

Eelco Schattorie, a UEFA PRO License holder, who worked with Dutch side VVV-Venlo for over a decade is highly experienced in Asian circuit. Eelco's experience in Asian circuit boasts of stints in Oman, UAE, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. In his first season in Indian Football, he took United SC to a club-record 4th place finish in the i-League above the likes of heavyweights Dempo SC, Salgaocar FC and Mohun Bagan. In the next season, United SC were hit by sponsorship crisis and both Eelco and United SC decided to terminate the contract after mutual consent.

Eelco Schattorie will be taking charge of Red and Golds, who are currently placed 4th in the ongoing Hero i-League 2015 season, 4 points adrift of league leaders Royal Wahingdoh FC.
