FC Pune City sign Steve Simonsen and Nicky Shorey

Hero Indian Super League(ISL) side FC Pune City have roped in former Stoke City goalkeeper Steve Simonsen and ex-Reading, West Brom full back Nicholas Robert "Nicky" Shorey. Having already signed Costa-Rica forward Yendrick Ruiz, the two new signings will hopefully strengthen the Indian Super League(ISL) club for the Second Season.

Nicky Shorey,34, a full back who can also play as defensive midfielder, has played for several top notch English sides namely Aston Villa, Fulham, West Bromwich Albion. Shorey's career highlight was during his time with Reading where he capped more than 250 appearances for the Royals that included championship and Premier League. Following his great form for Reading, Shorey made the cut for the English National Team in 2007, when the Three Lions faced Brazil at Wembley.

Bollywood superstar Hritik Roshan owned FC Pune City also have roped in experienced English goalkeeper Steven Simonsen. Simonsen, 36, who played started his career for Tranmere Robers before joining Everton. After Everton stint, Simonsen joined Stoke City for who he featured more than 150 times in the span of around 6 years(from 2004-2010). After playing for Potters, Simonsen also featured for Sheffield United and Preston North End. He then went on to play for Scottish sides Dundee FC and Rangers.
