Rural Development Trust's (RDT) Anantapur Sports Academy (ASA) enters their penultimate week of preparation in anticipation of one of their biggest tournaments yet. Their first major tournament of the 2015-16 football season awaits them, in the form of the 13th edition of the Administrator's Challenge Cup for Boys Under 17 to be held between 22nd and 30th September 2015 in Chandigarh.

As everyone in the football fraternity is to believe, this tournament is second to only to the I league and the ISL, with the who's who of Indian football setting sights and marking dates for this tournament. The tournament has grown so big that even talent scouts keep their eyes peeled  for young talented players.  RDT’s ASA team is set to be pitted against 17 of the best football teams in the country. The likes of Bengaluru FC, Pune FC, Baichung Bhutia Football School, Ozone Academy and other big name football teams, along with four local teams from Chandigarh, are all set to participate in this tournament.

The prime focus for the team is to get some much needed exposure, says an optimistic P Vijayabhaskar, Assistant Coach of the ASA football team. "No doubt, we are looking to play well during the tournament, and wins will only encourage us more. But playing our basics well will be the most important thing during this tour. We are happy to get the opportunity to play in this tournament, which in itself is a great achievement for us, and will provide the boys exposure among the best talents in the country in their age group."

The team has been focussing on important elements of football like pressing, positional awareness, space utilisation, and formations that they learnt during the Spanish Club, Sant Cugat Esport FC's camp earlier, along with keeping in mind and utilising the 'ekkono method' that the boys were taught, thanks to the training provided by Soccer Services to RDT’s football coaches, a company that has been associated with a number of big names in world football.

The coaches have also been emphasizing that the team conduct themselves in a systematic manner as one unit rehearsing for their outing. The team has been instructed to make sure they arrive and depart as one unit during training, at meal times and even study sessions.. The team will be going to Chandigarh as ambassadors for RDT and the ASA. They shall carry the RDT flag to continually remind them of this fact.

The boys have already risen to the occasion very evidently as it has been noticed that they are constantly talking about Chandigarh, researching and discussing the weather conditions as well as  strategies against various teams. The coaches have been pleasantly surprised that the youngest of their players are creating more of a buzz than their seniors.
