Team India are all set to face the Asian giants Iran - their toughest opponent in the World Cup Qualifiers group stage on Tuesday, 8th September 2015 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru.

Ranked 40 in Asia, Iran will be a huge test for Stephen Constantine's boys who are yet to register a single point in the group after defeats at the hands of Oman(1-2 defeat at home), Guam(1-2 defeat away). Iran on the other hand have 4 points from 2 games after a 1-1 draw against Turkmenistan and a 6-0 thrashing of Guam.

"FIFA Rankings are just another Rankings. What matters are the results. I have great respect for India as opponents. And I don’t see the FIFA Rankings as a parameter to judge. It is 11 versus 11 on the field tomorrow. Nothing less, nothing more!" said Carlos Queiroz, the Head Coach of Iran Senior National Team.

The former Real Madrid manager further added, "Playing away in a World Cup Qualifier fixture is always difficult. There are numerous challenges and numerous difficulties. But I expect a fighting attitude from my lads."

Indian coach Stephen Constantine spoke about the obvious quality of the visiting team, "Iran are one of the best sides in Asia. They are where they are because of the things they have done in the past and are doing it even presently."

"There is a great deal of respect for Iran but don’t mistake that for fear. It’s 11v11 on the field. If we work hard there is a chance that we can take something from this game; and I believe we can," said Stephen Constantine, the Indian Coach.

The live telecast of the match will be on Sony Kix from 7 PM IST onward.
