U-16 Youth League to feature 50 teams from all across the country.
The U-16 Youth League will be the transformed version of U-15 Youth League which
was won by Minerva Academy from Punjab 
50 Teams to participate in U-16 Youth League scheduled to kick-off in September 2016. Last year 39 teams participated in the event.

AIFF Technical Director Scott O'Donell said,"Reaching the magic figure of 50 in the second year of the U-16 Youth League shows the positive intent among the Clubs and private Academies. They deserve due credit for their untiring effort towards building up the Teams."

Minerva Academy FC from Punjab won the inaugural edition of the tournament(U-15 Youth League) lasy year defeating Royal Wahingdoh in the finals.

The U-15 Youth League has been altered to U-16 Youth League keeping tabs on the upcoming U-17 World Cup 2017.

One interesting aspect to look forward to this season will be the participation of three teams from Kashmir with Jammu and Kashmir Bank and Real Kashmir joining Lonestar Kashmir. Also the U-16 Youth League will see two teams from Gujrat - Sports Authority of Gujarat and Kahaani FC. Football crazy Kerala will have four teams from the state - Kovalam FC, Prodigy FA, SEPT FA and Red Star FC.
